rock on
dear internets,
I am sorry to say that I am cheesed off at you Internets. Why is it that no one has ever told me how funny 30 rock is? Even though I am now catching up by watching all the episodes via Netflix instant watch, I now know that I can’t trust you to deliver timely information about what is HOT in the world of entertainment. You suck internets.

I’m not entirely sure what your stance is. I know that my stance is a little left of left. Which is to say that I wholeheartedly believe that all drugs should be legal. I don’t think any kind of drug that can be either abused or taken recreationally poses a threat to the fabric of our lives. You know what IS a threat? Making drugs illegal, which is why really really bad people sell them or make them. See, the fact they are illegal also makes them valuable and the more valuable something is, the more likely someone will try to cut corners and make money from its production or sale.
I say make everything legal. Once you do that, you pretty much eliminate the illegal drug trade which is responsible for countless lives each year. Think about this:
1. If all drugs, from heroin to marijuana to cocaine, were legal, inner cities would no longer be criminal havens.
2. If all drugs were legalized, within the first few years, a lot of really, really, really stupid people would die off, making the world a better place.
3. If all drugs were legalized, the government could tax them just like the tax cigarettes and alcohol thereby increasing revenue for drug programs and education.
I write this as I think about the ridiculous backlash of the Brad Phelps bong hit photo. The guy wins a gold medal, smokes some weed and now he is no longer a role model? It freaking amazing how incredibly stupid the mass media is if the worst news they can think to publish is a picture of some young guy getting high to relax. I say enough is enough. Write your congressional representatives and tell them you’re done fighting the war on drugs and you’d like to make peace… preferably by smoking a big old bowl from the peace pipe.

I’ve finally made definitive plans to be on the mainland in late june early july. I’ll be in San Francisco for my buddy’s wedding, then making my way down to san diego for a week or so with friends and family. I actually have not been back to San Diego for over 6 years. It should be interesting.
