inherently different

So for Thanksgiving I deep fried a turkey. Part of that process included cleaning up after myself. I did… pretty much.

I emptied out the used oil but didn’t clean out the inside of the pot figuring that a little oil coating would prevent it from rusting (hey, this is my blog so these are my misguided beliefs!). I had intended on cleaning it up the weekend after Thanksgiving but one thing lead to another and I forgot. Until today.

Today I cleaned it. It was dirty, oily, smelly and did I mention oily? It didn’t take much to clean it up but still the experience was bad enough to prevent me from doing that again. Not deep-frying a turkey but not cleaning up immediately after the oil cools.
