here comes the sun

Looking at this image, where would you think it was taken? I would hazard a guess that most people would attribute this view to Hawaii or the South Pacific. It is in fact an image I took while driving to SFO one morning.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time at airports in my traveling days. Big and small, provencial and international, in the United States and in Australia, British Columbia, Mexico, Thailand, Raratonga, and Fiji. They’re pretty much all the same, except for SFO. It is by far my favorite. Throw in the fact that they have FREE wireless Internet access and I wouldn’t mind pulling a Tom Hanks and living there indefinitely.

I digress. As you can see, the new blog is coming along nicely. I have archives, comments, and lists galore. The fact that pictures can be uploaded easily and automatically generate thumbnails is a major bonus… from now on, I’ll strive to post an image a day, even if I have little to say about it.

Also, for those who have been paying attention, I’ll no longer be using the “Friends” title scheme. Now they’ll be something else entirely, but still follow a theme… can you guess what it is?
